JD’s #tipoftheweek Waitrose Kitchen new free app

I won’t lie, Waitrose is, and has been, my favourite supermarket for years. Before they opened my local store in Bury St Edmunds more than 20 years ago, I used to drive all the way over to their old branch in Newmarket. Anyway, if you too are a Waitrose regular and you don’t already have a myWaitrose card it’s well worth having. A free newspaper and coffee when you shop, discounts and a complimentary copy of the excellent Waitrose Kitchen magazine – what’s not to like? Even better, they’ve just introduced a brilliant new app that’s free for myWaitrose cardholders downloadable from Apple Newsstand or Google Play.

Waitrose KitchenThe new March issue of Waitrose Kitchen is available on the app plus you can browse older issues as far back as December 2013. I really like the way they’ve laid out all the recipes in ‘cook’ (step by step) or full page recipe mode and it’s really easy to navigate all the content – interviews, tips and recipes. It also means that I can stop ripping out odd recipe pages and ditch all my hard copy back issues to make more space for new cookery books!

Waitrose Kitchen is also indexed on the Eat Your Books app that was my #tipoftheweek last month – read it here.
